The Story
In the summer of 2015 producer/actress Helenna Santos pitched an idea to her friends Alexandra Boylan and John KD Graham: an adventure film based loosely on geocaching and a creepy interview she had heard on NPR. And thus, the beginning of At Your Own Risk was born.
The team reached out to Alexandra's brother, Andrew Boylan, writer of their first feature, Home Sweet Home, who jumped on board to write the screenplay featuring 2 women deep in the New Mexico desert.
The Goal: Shoot a movie for as cheap as possible. Under $1,000 to be exact.
Why?
Returning to their guerrilla filmmaking roots, the team embarked on a journey to make a movie where the artistry was based upon physical constraints and not budgets.

In order to pull off this crazy project, they enlisted their friend and long time collaborator, cinematographer Richard Galli.
Rick shot all three of John and Alexandra's feature films and was intrigued by the challenge of telling the visual story with the bare essentials. Because he's just as adventurous as the rest of them, he jumped on board and headed off into the desert.

For ten days, the team filmed At Your Own Risk, deep in the deserts of New Mexico. From hauling gear up mountains to mile long hikes deep into the Chihuahuan desert, the four of them were the sole production team for the bulk of production.
Upon returning to LA, they brought on more passionate collaborators: editor Lex Benedict, composer Sean Barrett, sound designer/mixer Sam Read, and post FX rockstar Andrew Muto, and a whole group of friends who would help fill out the world of this micro-budget movie.
Stay tuned for "At Your Own Risk" coming fall of 2017!
